When we hear Jose Salinas he reminds us of the purity and maturity of the ancient and great flamenco singers. Among his long career he has absorbed all the wisdom of the great masters.

José Salinas was born in Almería amidst of a family which has been always very close to flamenco. From there comes his passion for this art which has taken him around the world.

In 1996 he moves to Madrid where he starts working with great artists such as :

Joaquín Ruiz, Belén López, Rafaela Carrasco, Carlota Santana, Miguel Ángel Espino, Miriam Méndez, Inmaculada Ortega, Carlos Chamorro, Concha Jareño, Amir John Haddad “El Amir” touring through countries such as Japan, USA, South Africa, Canada, Europe, India…

In Madrid he has performed in the most legendary and famous flamenco tablaos such as Casa Patas, Las Carboneras, Café de Chinitas, Corral de la Morería, Las Tablas…

He has collaborated as well on recordings of great artists such as El Torta, Miriam Méndez, Salva del Real, Silvia Marín… further he has been official “palmero” for singers from Jerez de la Frontera like El Torta and Fernando de la Morena where he absorbed the essence of the ancient way of singing.

His debut album “Tierra de Luz” shows us his personal way of feeling, living and understanding flamenco finding a new path of unique expression. Far from any mainstream concept all songs are full of rich musical elements where oriental, Mediterranean and fusion elements are combined in order to enhance the traditional flamenco art form.

All the music in “Tierra de Luz” has been produced, composed and arranged by the extraordinary flamenco guitarist Amir John Haddad “El Amir” known for his musical versatility, character and maturity.

“Tierra de Luz” counts with the collaborations of: Amir John Haddad “El Amir”, Pablo Martín Jones, Josemi Garzón, Oliver Sierra (Chambao), Raul Márquez (Ole Swing), Hamsika Iyer (India), Kike Terrón, Pedro Esparza, Cuco Perez, Nieves Díaz (voice)

Recorded, mixed and mastered by Héctor Tellini (Zoobazar) at SantaFé Studio (Madrid, Spain).
